How to get the easter egg issues (SPOILER)

Postby Swesoc » Sun Feb 14, 2010 12:42 pm

I was reading through this thread (an interesting read!) and thought we should once and for all figure out what the requirements for all the easter eggs are.

As I understand, these are the easter egg issues:

#077: World to End, or Possibly Just Mark Anniversary
NSWiki implies that you get this once you've found a certain number of easter eggs: "Note: This issue also included the message: (Congratulations on finding so many easter eggs. As a reward, here is the special issue our players got when NationStates turned one year old.) if it was received after the 1 year anniversary."

- The amount of easter eggs you need to find is 3 (possibly less). - Dreudel

#078: Easter Egg: Should We Pull The Lever?
Have "Holy" in your pretitle. - Flibbleites. Possibly also have 1 or 1.25 billion population (Did anyone get the issue without having a 1 billion population, or without having 1.25 billion?).

#080: Easter Egg: Aliens Wish Peace/Trade Agreement
"produce a whole heck of a lot of pizza" - Omigodtheykilledkenny (you only need to have "Pizza Delivery" as your major industry? How do you get that?). There's also some speculation about it here.

#215: Easter Egg: What's Your Favourite Colour?
Have a color in your pretitle (for which you need 500 million population). - Ballotonia

#223: Easter Egg: Zombie Attack!
Re-activate account ("come back from the dead"). - Omigodtheykilledkenny

There's also another theory that seems less likely (since most people who got this one never had anything special in their pretitles and only re-activated) but I'll keep it here anyway: It's possible that it's enough to only have "Zombie" in your pretitle, without having to re-activate. - Shinkadomayaka

#256: Easter Egg: Suburbs Are Out Of This World
Possibly high crime rate (crippling?). - Zwangzug
Possibly also a space program. - New Ziedrich

#266: Breaching the Great Fourth Wall of @@NAME@@
NOTE: this one is not marked as an easter egg but it'll say you've found an easter egg once you answer it. - Dreudel

Yellow = Vague
Red = Unknown

Capital city, Leader and Religion issues
Almajoya wrote:Custom title = when your population reaches 500 million.

Custom leader = when your pop. hits 750 million and you luck into getting the related issue.

Custom city= pop is 250 million and you get the issue.

Custom religion = pop is 1bil and you get the issue.

How this works is those issues are added to the issue pool once you reach the required population, so when you get them is random but you won't get them until you meet the population requirement. Your title can be changed in settings as soon as you reach 500 million (you don't have to answer an issue for that one).

That's all I could find. If anyone knows anything, please add it.

Two of my nations have gotten the suburbs issue without any concerted effort.
One has a custom pretitle, one does not.

Since it's prompted by high crime rates, could those perhaps be a prerequisite? Right now they're both at "crippling" crime. Zwangzug, which I don't remember receiving the issue with, has had lower crime levels.

Also, after answering the issue, both countries were told that they had found 2 Easter Eggs even though it was the first (and so far only) one for both of them. I think this is just a bug, though.

There has to be more to it than that, considering how many of my nations I've revived how many times and the fact that I've yet to get that issue for any of the 'active' ones amongst them...

Thank you. I've updated the list.

Maybe the bug checks for your email address or something rather than your nation name, so it counts all the easter eggs you've found with all your nations.

There has to be more to it than that, considering how many of my nations I've revived how many times and the fact that I've yet to get that issue for any of the 'active' ones amongst them...

Maybe it's another pretitle thing. This post also suggests it.

[Edit]
I asked the author of the post, he got it after he put "The Zombie Horde" as pretitle. Presumably the magic word is "Zombie".

"it helps to be religious" - Flibbleites. This post on jolt suggests that you only need to have "Holy" in the pretitle (not necessarily divert funds into Religion & Spirituality?) and possibly have a population of 1 (or 1.25) billion (can anyone verify this? Did anyone get the issue without having a 1 billion population?).

For the record, my comment there referred to the pretitle requirement.

I have gotten the zombie issue in several nations shortly after reviving them. The Eternal Kawaii also got the issue after CTE-ing and returning, and then decided to turn those zombies on the World Assembly. Neither of us have ever used "zombie" in our national pre-titles.

I'm pretty sure another prerequisite is a strong space program. I've got two particularly notable puppets with high crime. The one with no space presence has not received that issue; the one with a very healthy space program (has "keen interest in outer space" as one of the random descriptions in the first paragraph) has received the suburbs issue.

Furthermore; none of my nations with low crime and a space program have ever gotten that issue.

Well, I don't think I ever revived my nation and I got the zombie easter egg the day after changing my pretitle to "The Zombie Horde of Shinkadomayaka", so I'm assuming it's not a coincidence...

Ok. Thanks for clearing it up.

I updated the possible space program requirement too.

The zombie issue: Some people are saying they've never revived and had the pretitle, while others say they revived but didn't have the pretitle. Could it be completely random, or that either requirement is valid (sounds strange for an easter egg)?

Plus I think I've seen a lot of nations with "Zombie" in the pretitle. Could be that people just like Night of the Living Dead though. I'll keep it in my pretitle anyway and I'm not inactive enough to get deleted. If I get the issue, we'll know that the Zombie thing works.

I never got the capitol issue. Why not?

Once you have X million population, those issues are just added to the "issue pool" and you'll get them sooner or later (sooner it seems, judging by how many issues I've answered 3-4 times by now). So when you get them is random but you won't get them until you have the required population.

I've had a significant number of my nations get the zombie issue without anything zombieish in their pretitles. I suggest it must be either/or.

I've searched and searched for a pretitle-mechanism for getting the alien pizza egg, however, and have been unsuccessful. If there's a pretitle path to that one, it's pretty obscure (or else I have a hole in my mind right where the correct trigger word should be).

I got the Favorite Color issue and I'm sure I have never had a color in my pre-title ("Constitutional Empire").

(Actually I might have answered the issue with Aeruillin, but that one's a "Neutral Republic", also without a color.)

Has anyone gotten the Holy thing without having 1 billion population?

(Actually I might have answered the issue with Aeruillin, but that one's a "Neutral Republic", also without a color.)

That's odd. I'm beginning to think that there might be different requirements to some of these easter eggs, like maybe (for example) either you have to have a color in your pretitle or have X population, or for the zombie issue either revive or have zombie in your pretitle.

Not that it proves anything but about a week or two after I put "Red" in my pretitle I got the color issue (but like I said maybe I would've gotten it anyway, it's impossible to know).

Could it be possible that "Neutral" counts like a color? After all the last option in that issue is "tell her you don't have a favorite color". Might be a stretch.

I think that is very possible. I tried to get the egg with a number of terms intended to indicate the lack of a color (e.g., "colourless" (the issue uses British spelling you know) and "rainbow") without luck. "Neutral" was a term I didn't think of.
