Apieceofswisscheese wrote:Issue #20: Gunman Kills Three is biased to leave the typical left wing position, option 1, as the right answer. Option 1 contains the way all positions should be referenced unless the left and right references you use are consistent with typical real world positions or all exaggerated to the same extent and tied to equally absurd and repugnant suggestions. This is not the case in #20. The typical left wing position is in option 1 and is referenced as “the strongest voices” and quotes an “anti-gun campaigner” in order to leave this truly left wing position as the reasonable centrist position. It also hides the confiscation of guns by presenting it as “to take the guns out of the hands of the murderers”.
Option 2 presents the faux equally radical left wing position which is different from option 1 only in the open frank phrasing and inclusion of the police in the disarmament. The differences serve to make this option unpalatable and make the reader comfortable with option 1.
Option 3 uses the politically charged much vilified real world NRA to represent the typically conservative position. It also portrays an official NRA position to “crack down on movies and computer games” that has never been taken by the real world NRA and is more repugnant than the obviously absurd disarmament of the police by the left in option 2. The inclusion of the crackdown makes this position unlikely to be supported even by a gun enthusiast and second amendment supporter like myself and again chases the reader to dismiss or go back to option 1.
I have no way of checking but predict that at least ¾ of those that don’t dismiss choose option 1 and will bet one trillion bytecoins that option 1 does the best things for a nation’s statistics overall. I’m good for it, you may check my account in Astarial’s exchange.

This game exaggerates real life scenarios and there is no right or wrong answer when choosing options in issues; most, if not all, have both positive and negative effects on a nation.
The text of this option was written by Max, so it's highly unlikely it's ever going to be rewritten. Soz.

If you want to discuss the choices of each issue in more depth, post new threads for them.

find a real English word for spewage. Sorry but Disemboguement is all that I can think of with the meaning that spewage suggests ... or maybe just flow.

Both zeros and zeroes are correct.
Paycheck is the correct spelling.
