Official LWU Statement on Predator

Postby Anerastreia » Mon Apr 04, 2016 11:45 am

On Predator, Halcones, and The Black Riders

In spring 2015, Halcones attempted to assist a coup of Lone Wolves United on behest of DOS player LSD. At that point, it became clear that Halcones was no friend to LWU. In fact, he was directly contradicting the spirit of Raider Unity. There is no unity in fomenting dissent and disorder in the organizations of allied regions. The opinion of LWU leadership since this time was that Halcones' interpretation of Raider Unity was that whatever he thought was necessary was the right action to take, regardless of what it meant for whatever he was trying to influence at the time. Halcones was no friend to LWU, and this was something we kept firmly in mind.

As a result of this, Predator and any other tool made by Halcones were explicitly banned from the possession and usage of and by members of LWU when it began to spread out from the confines of The Black Riders leadership. This was especially important to us after his DOS, when it was possible that the tool itself was in truth a dangerous non-asset. We did not trust it for many reasons; Halcones' presence after his actions against our community as the most prominent, and his status as a DOS player being second in mind. This has proven to be an astute decision, as Lone Wolves United has walked away from this situation completely untouched by the black brush that is Predator's influence.

We waited for the ruling to come to a final decision on how to best manage this situation. The culpability of each player was reflected in the magnitude of their punishments. DEN's deletion was a tragic event, especially for the original community with a decade and more of history. That legacy was soiled by Predator's usage, and the blame for that can be laid solely at the feet of The Black Riders community, who subsumed the name and tarnished the heritage of an old and proud organization.

The fact that the Moderators view The Black Rider community as a culture of rule-breakers, and have said so multiple times, is something we took heavily into consideration. The risks of working with that community when it could reflect back on Lone Wolves United is too great. We have therefore decided to sever all relations with the erstwhile community of The Black Riders. Gest being the centerpiece of this community and the recipient of a punishment of the second most severe magnitude means that this severing of ties extends to any military organization led by Gest in the future. Lone Wolves United wishes them luck in their future endeavors, but we will no longer be militarily associating with their community.

That being said, anyone who find themselves as dual members of any such future community and LWU will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis as to their culpability in this event. While we, as invaders, may be the antagonists of NationStates, we strongly feel it to be of the utmost importance that we operate within the guidelines of legality while interacting with the NationStates site. The invader cause is not served by those who wish to live outside these guidelines onsite. Any such behavior cannot, nor should not, be condoned much less tolerated or encouraged. It is our hope that this statement makes it clear that we take such grievances seriously.

Elindra Kshrlmnt: I'm always right. I'm a woman.
Dream Killers: I was going to say that if you are the problem child for LWU we are the best region in the game.
