He made it pretty clear that anybody serving a sentence for using predator should not be Scribe of War. Cut and dry. I guess he felt that if the mods saw it as wrong enough for the user to serve a sentence then that person should not be SoW or Vizier.

Maybe he just changed his mind? I dare say it would not be the first instance of him doing so...

Kyorgia brought this up earlier, but he was promptly ignored. I am going to assume you did not see his post and just bring this up again. During the campaign for Pharaoh you asked every candidate if they would nominate anybody serving a punishment for Predator usage as Scribe of War. It should be noted that you very clearly did not want a former Predator user as Scribe of War. I believe you may have said it could make or break your support for a candidate even. I would go find a link to this, but it appears that those threads have been either deleted or hidden.

Your nominee for Scribe of War is Kothles. Koth is very qualified. I will not dispute that. The issue I have is that he is currently serving a punishment for using Predator. You have made it very clear in the past that you find the concept of a former Predator user being Scribe of War while serving a punishment to be wrong or dishonorable or something like that. Why this change of heart?

My apologies, I actually did miss that in Kyorgia's post. There were three factors that went into me asking Koth to serve as Vizier of Military Affairs:

1. It should be kept in mind that this is still an interim government, and that after a new constitution is ratified, our head of government will be appointing a longer term cabinet. In this brief interim period, Military Affairs will be focused on continued defense of Osiris against possible threats, not so much on leading raids. Predator use is a significant problem, in my view, for the latter, but not the former.

2. I have in fact made a distinction between the use of Predator before Halcones was declared delete-on-sight versus using it after, on more than one occasion. You must have missed it. Everyone should have been more cautious about the scripts they were using, but it was much more reasonable to trust Halcones' scripts when he was still a NationStates player than to continue trusting his scripts after he had been declared delete-on-sight for script rules violations.

3. You may have noticed that some things have changed since initial discussions of Predator in Osiris. We now have fewer military gameplayers qualified to serve as Vizier of Military Affairs than we did at the time.

The questioning of appointees in this interim stage is calm by GP standards, and I hope it remains that way.

Well it's "calm" because there isn't anything we can do about it regardless of how we feel. That doesn't mean people necessarily like what's happening.
