That depends on who you ask. Here in Gameplay, it will focus on gameplay organizations and people. If you ask in an RP forum, you'll undoubtedly get RP people and regions.

It is undoubtedly subjective. By raw nation numbers, accounting for range, and excluding null regions, I would rank them this way:

1. The North Pacific
2. The Pacific
3. The East Pacific
4. The South Pacific, The West Pacific [Tied]
5. Lazarus
6. Balder, Osiris [Tied]
7. The Rejected Realms
8. 10000 Islands
9. Europeia
10. The Communist Bloc

Most significant organisations? Shouldn't the WA be at #1?

No, this is top 10 regions. Although the WA would definitely be the most significant organization in NS.

PoH wrote:So I read somewhere about top 10 most significant lists on regions/organizations and people on NS.

For example, the FRA and NPO appear to be losing some of their former prominence as newer regions and organizations take their place.

Likewise, players such as Unibot are losing their influence as others rise.

What do you think would be an accurate list nowadays and how has this changed from the past?

I've always had the opinion that a list of the most powerful regions would have to exclude GCRs, or at the very least have them on a separate list. GCRs have natural advantages that makes a comparison a bit skewed.

These are the results of the 2015 Gameplay Awards, they should probably tell you at least a few nations/regions who are on the list: viewtopic.php?p=27257143#p27257143

Irrelevant to my point and outdated.

The awards were not given based on the views of the greater GP community, but on the views of a small percentage of it that still posts on this dreadful forum regularly.

PoH wrote:What do you think would be an accurate list nowadays and how has this changed from the past?

I'll be honest, the second part of this question seems to be pretty pointless to ask, obviously it's changed from the past. Regions fall, regions rise, players retire, players join, so it goes. Obviously the "power rankings change". Anyways, ignoring the obvious circlejerk that this thread is going to be if we all start stating opinions, focussing just on Gameplay Influence, here's my "In no specific order" list for players and for regions.
Regions:
  • 10000 Islands
  • Spiritus
  • The Land of Kings and Emperors
  • The East Pacific
  • The North Pacific
  • DEN
  • The Black Hawks
  • Europeia
  • The Rejected Realms
  • Miniluv

Nations:
  • Members of Miniluv

I realize that there are no specific 10 listed on those nations, but I've already said more than I feel like I can safely say. Miniluv is everywhere, afterall. Remember, Gameplay: War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. Stability is Stagnation. Many prominent individuals have blown their whistles about Miniluv throughout the years and then fallen into obscurity, the most major recent one being Unibot, a player who went from hero to zero in the eyes of many across Gameplay. Was Miniluv involved? Who knows?! We must be prudent about this global conspiracy, however, as rumors of a reborn Empire summon themselves at the same time as this resurgence of Miniluv.
