Looking for region. Not massive but not small. Modern tech with a map, whether it is of earth or a different world all together doesn't matter. Doesn't use NS stats and has a variety of roleplay, both in character and not. I've done a lot of tabletop roleplay but nothing I can link to if that matters. Thanks in advance.

Check out The Universal Allegiance. We are medium sized and we do a lot of discussions on various topics and roleplays. Even though we only have about 70 population, we do have a great community.

Hey, I'd personally advise you to also take a look at Western Colonies, which is knee-deep in cool lore you're free to ignore. You can engage in roleplay as much or as little as you want to, the community is pretty welcoming, and on a normal day we're extremely active. Not now, though - most of us are students, and midterms are painful! We also vary wildly in actual roleplay experience, from one guy who's basically just using his nation to publish a novel to people that write occasional single-paragraph rants. Interests in what we post also vary - as I mentioned, on the one hand we have the guy trying to do a novel, and on the other we have people like me who write massive walls of political BS that clog way too much screen space. There's no standard of effort or quality beyond basic good spelling and a general prohibition on one-liner roleplay posts. Whatever your preference is, we're always there to accommodate it and will enjoy your presence!

The Confederacy of Narvolk is medium sized, and we have a regional map set in modern Europe. A couple of us are veteran players but I don't see how that would be a bad thing, we have a few newbies as well.

The International Democratic Union is a bit larger than that, but if you don't count the puppets and inactive nations then it probably qualifies. IDU members have been deeply involved in the WA (especially the GA side of things) since it was created (and even before that, when we had the NS-UN instead), and have been responsible for about 10% of the passed GA resolutions. We're currently re-organizing our government, so now would be a particularly good time to join us.
