Unsurprised. Not quite sure what I think of the mechanics of the test, though.

Weird.

You're playing all sides, Todd.

Or you're like Switzerland.

This shows quite a weird thing. How can one be both very raider and very defender in such a test, where they're pitted against each other

I'm not quite sure. I have raider beliefs, yeah, but if we didn't have the defender side, like how they fight raiders, defend regions, etc, it'd be kind of one-sided. I guess I got a bit of both because I believe there should be balance in the R&D game? Perhaps one should take the difference. In that case, I'd be 20% raider, which matches kind of well with that test Unibot had a few years ago. That makes sense, but then I'm more cosmo than regionalist? That I didn't expect, lol.

This was probably brought up with the first test as well, but I feel like some of the questions should be split up. I think raiding is wrong: True - Therefore raiders a stinky evil people. :eyebrow:

UDL version? While it had much nicer presentation and had simpler results, the hidden formula behind that version always left me scratching my head.

It was far less complicated as a formula than people made it out to be. I was splitting my sides when two Ivy league science majors were racking their brains over how the formula worked. Literally: a point for a "strongly" answer and half a point for a "non-strongly" answer.

The complicated part was a php script that created the working image of the compass.

Solm's site is probably just down. I'll bring it up with him.

I do believe people shall find this interesting.

Raiderist (100%)
Defenderist (82%)

IMPUUUURRRREEEEE :P

Regionalist (100%)
Cosmopolitanist (97%)

It does make sense, I guess. While I'm very much a raider, I also think communities have some rights - even if I violate them - and agree with statements along the lines of "people should have a moral drive to protect raided regions." They should, it's kinda sad sometimes how few come to the aid of people we raid. It's probably also in part the style of raid that drew me to TBH - less pain, more party :P We're a lot more likely to raid for a week of three, have some fun, eject just a few, and move on - compared to other orgs that are more likely to seek refound.

For the second, it's probably due to strong view on both sides - I believe that players should follow their own views, but also respect the community. I think that interacting with, working with, and chatting with other regions and even enemies is something that's important and to be encouraged - seeing all sides is a good thing. I think that it's good to have a presence larger than your region - be it what roleplay era you participate in, what Gp alignment you cheer for, writing WA issues, whatever. However, I'm also a firm believe in dedicating oneself to one or two regions, rather than playing all angles. I'm in two that I give my attention to - one for my RP/General/Chatting buddies, and one for Gameplay. I agreed with statements like people who keep their WA in a region (and therefore put it first, in at least one major respect) should be given greater opportunities, and that those who do far more than visit the offsite once or twice to register for citizenship deserve more respect and a higher place in the region than those who do the minimum. I'd rather give my full dedication to one region, then "have my options open" in a half dozen, that I'll never truly be the heart of. So strong views in both regards :P

 Seriously? Ivy League science majors?

I figured UDL version had a 10 points for strongly agree and 5 points on agree. The disagree had a negative value. Glad to see I was close. I couldn't exactly format it like Solm's as it really only scores positives. So it can't differentiate between moderate and extremist(suppose the priority thing could do that, but I'm not sure it even works as I didn't mess with that). The questions are scored like such:

“Raiders Suck!”
Agree(score for defender) or Disagree(score for raider) it then appears to measure by proportion of (answers you scored regionalist/total regionalist points). To get your UDL score, you use subtraction like Todd McCloud suggested.

Hmm. I like the idea of a 3D version of the test and actually have been wondering how to go about it. This is a 3D test. Liberty, Equality, and Order (the value of Regionalists). Independent Manifesto value Liberty-leaning Order. The Raiderists(their value is distinct and different from order) are a bit of a puzzle to measure(they actually score in the same exact place as defenders at times, one popped up as outright Maoist), and I have a theory about that (which took the nazis to confirm because they score, oddly in 3D LEO) which I will elaborate in an opinion piece. Defenders usually score as Liberal egalitarians. Cosmopolitans do score positive for Order, but it is such a low priority.(Hence why individualists and Anarchists tend to score there). There are issues with the UDL test(LEO testing shows an egalitarian-leaning establishmentarian bias). It also incorporates the Nolan charts base errors as well, such as conflating policy and ideology. Gameplay strikes me as operating on another dimension from LEO(like policy position does). One can use any ideological position for the same general policy. The Ideocube is an attempt at a 3D policy position chart (that expands on Nolan chart). When I try to combine LEO with that, it produces some rather odd results(Iron-fist Socialists=Militant Centrists?!) Yet it also shows the distortion of the cube(only the corners are extremists).

Comrade Anders Blakewood: That should mean you are a centrist in regionalism vs cosmopolitanism.

One must ultimately consider perceptial mechanics(game theory works well there) and the fact that our world is multidimensional. There are likely undiscovered parameters. The creator of LEO is recently working out some extra mechanics that involves calculus, game theory, and tensor math.

Also I apologize if this was long and borders on threadjacking.

My score is:

Defenderist (100%)
Raiderist (95%)
Cosmopolitanist (100%)
Regionalist (42%)
UDL version Raiderism/Cosmopolitanism: 1/-5

What the heck, let's see where this version of the test puts me these days. Maybe I've gone defender in my absence. :p

*Takes test*

Raiderist (100%)
Defenderist (39%)

About what I expected, give or take, for those. I think the test weights certain answers as 'defenderist' or 'cosmopolitan' inaccurately more so than regionalist or raiderist, but that was there in the old version too.

Regionalist (100%)

Cosmopolitanist (56%)

Yes, too much weight given to answers that acknowledge the question has a point, but isn't a statement of agreement with it. But again, happened in the old one too, so more or less what I expected from the test.
