☩ The Biblical Assembly ☩
Standing on the truth of God's word...and the gospel.
Psalm 133:1 - How wonderful, how beautiful, when brothers and sisters get along!
Matthew 28:18-20 - And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Background
The idea of the Biblical Assembly developed in November 2014 when a representative amongst the Alliance of Protestant Nations proposed the creation of a universal Christian commonwealth of organizations, nations, and regions taking a stand for what they believe in. Initially unsuccessful, talk of the project has renewed again during the Protestant Peace Summit. Noting the division between the newly created Protestant regions is clear, and understanding that total reunification is now impossible, a wider goal, the creation of a looser coalition with a stronger mission and governance has now been established.
A new Christian Commonwealth...
The success of the Alliance of Protestant Nations, which at its height was the forefront of the Protestant Christian movement and held 30 or 40 individual nations, proves that there is an interest in many in preserving regional independence while at the same time working towards a common goal. The Biblical Assembly is the answer to this desire....with a fair new government.
As the new face of the Protestant movement, it will be diversely governed by representatives - one each - from each member-region. A Council of Elders, consisting of all representatives (the representatives appointed at regional discretion) governs the affairs of this new alliance, and a Chief Elder wields enough executive power to maintain order and to preserve the region's prerogative. A fair and Godly Constitution dictates how this commonwealth should be governed; and is open for amendments as the Assembly grows.
Why should you be involved?
New organizations are created all the time, so what is so special about the Biblical Assembly? Bear with me as this will sound just like a recruitment telegram for a moment!
The Biblical Assembly is one-size-fits-all, but in a good way. All Christian regions and organizations are welcome. Observers are definitely welcome without membership privileges, regardless of creed. To preserve unity, all member-regions have a few obligations outlined in our Constitution. Among these obligations include posting our Regional Constitution as a dispatch on your region, a statement of faith in Jesus Christ, and pledging your WA members (except for delegates) for the service of the cause as we will occasionally need military forces.
