Coalition of Catholic States Invaded!

Postby Jakker » Sat Oct 18, 2014 10:06 pm

At the last major update, Coalition of Catholic States was raided by The Black Hawks, Europeia, and The United Imperial Armed Forces of The New Inquisition, The Land of Kings and Emperors and Albion. This is the first raid in the region's 4+ year existence. Defenders tried to stop the invasion, but came in just seconds late.

The former delegate stated that with all of CCS' friends and allies that he "wasn't too concerned" about a raid. The region is now celebrating its new leaders by praying that they too can one day have the Moves Like Jakker.

Upon hearing "Moves Like Jakker", Pope Francis could not resist getting jiggy with it.

Black Hawk blankets being given to the natives as they plan their next move.

Judging by the poll in CCS, the natives seem to think so. ;)

Damn it Jakker! I was close to having enough influence to lock the place down, and you go and raid it....

During the zombie apocalypse, Founders and Delegates can close the region's borders at no Influence cost. A special Z-Day Border Control feature will be available to facilitate this.

How exciting. ;)

At the last major, a defending force of 43 (some of which were non-WA) came in to try and liberate CCS. Sadly, I was sleeping during the fun. While still unsuccessful, I am so impressed with those numbers. Goes to show that there are defenders out there and who are willing to work together. They just need me as their target. ;) <3

How'd they manage that? It's not very hard to jump into a region when nobody is at the hammer?

Do you have much experience of getting 40+ people to jump into a region with a password within a small time window?

Uh while there was no password, the dozens of people and time window points stand.

While it certainly is difficult and a frustrating experience, the failure and blame for it still falls onto the defenders' shoulders.

Nazi Europe had around 30-ish jumping along , and had an active raider delegate (also password protected). Ixnay had around 20 jumpers, and that was password protected. Those are my two most recent large jumps.

Maybe you should re-read. On those ops you listed, you were a grunt. In fact, I'd venture to guess that's all you still are. You have never lead a mission of that size. You've been liberated mannnny times. Way to talk big from the kiddie table.

Believe it or not, defenders don't have a psychic ability to know when Jakker is there or isn't. :P

There's a big difference between raiding a region and liberating it. When you raid it, unless somehow alerted in advance a native Delegate isn't expecting you. You therefore don't have to worry that they're going to banject you. The Nazi Europe operation is a valid point, but the "raiders" of Right Wing Uprising aren't as experienced as Jakker, and everyone, including defenders, do have successful operations from time to time. That one could just as easily have failed; in fact, the first attempt to retake Nazi Europe after UIAF's bumbling did fail, if I recall correctly.

That said, some mistakes were clearly made. The problem was that some who moved on time didn't endorse the native lead on time, a common problem in large liberations with people pulled in who need to be trained on the fly. Had cross-endorsement occurred instead of obsessing over "stealth" that a) didn't even exist because people were WAing and the Activity page renders stealth irrelevant, and b) ultimately didn't matter, though there was no way to know that, the liberation stood a better chance of success. Even if it had failed, those banjections would have cost Jakker more influence. The decision not to cross-endorse was a poor one on the part of the defender commanders who made it.
