There might be something about how the lower the taxes the easier it would be to make things on the chart seem that way. He probably defunded everything else except public transportation to get it like that. I'd be more impressed if he did the inverse, got everything to 100% public transport and then get taxes to 0%.

You just need tax increases, like, a lot of them. If you got a 100% tax rate and kept your PT stat consistent (doubtful), you'd get your nifty badge in no time.

I just got Diamonds Are An Expat's best friend a second time for this nation, is that fluke? Did they change the rules.

As far as I know you can only see the ones they've decided to display.

Odd, that shouldn't have happened. Mega-Chains like that are a one-go type deal, I'd suggest you take it up with Technical or Got Issues? if you haven't already.

Nope. Issue Editors changed it. You can only go through it once, but you no longer lose it if you accidentally dismiss it the first time through.

Can someone explain to me what 'Economy' means in this game? It is counterintuitive, for example:
1. I lower taxes, reduce unemployment, at no cost to corporations -- economy goes down.
2. I increase corporate welfare at the cost of higher taxes to the economy -- economy goes up a lot.

I have seen 'frightening' level of economies with 100% taxation -- that is pure magic mushroom-powered fantasy, but it seems to be a result of a long chain of item 2 type choices.

It is first important to note that NationStates is hyberbolic and satirical, every option and result is taken to extremes. Which can lead to some pretty uncanny and unrealistic results.

Players have played the game long enough to know how to manipulate issue results with the proper amount of dismissals in order to create 100% tax Frightening Economies, or just got lucky.

That doesn't affect your stats in any way.

It's just a name -- utterly meaningless really. North Korea has the word "democratic" in its formal name.

Well, the FAQ (linked on the side as "help" ) is a good place to start

This dispatch - https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=444406 - has been upvoted as one of the better player-made guides to the site.

Sections of the forums often have some sort of guide/FAQ/rules sections "stickied" at the top. I definitely recommend you read the One Stop Rules Shop (viewtopic.php?f=16&t=260044) at some point, at the least, to avoid breaking anything there!

If you have any more specific questions, someone here will either answer or point you towards a more specific guide!
