I apologize to Ikania if this offends him, it was not my intent to hurt his feelings or to mock him personally, simply to mock some of the arguments that he has employed (i.e. his certainty that the PRL will fall).

Fair enough I suppose, just the making him say inaccurate statements that reflect poorly on his intelligence (without him actually saying them) make me shift in my chair uncomfortably.

I've changed my mind. This 'war' between Lazarus and Osiris is nothing but a pathetic squabble. Quite honestly I expected the battle to be waged on the battlefield, not in the media with political propaganda. (Give me a break, I could have turned on the news if I wanted to watch that. :/ )

Delegates arrive for Regional Sovereignty Summit in Lazarus, Osiris seeks to bully participants into non-attendance

THE FORBIDDEN CITY - Delegates from across Nationstates arrived for the beginning of a summit on Regional Sovereignty, being hosted in the People's Republic of Lazarus. The summit, which is bringing together a range of user-created and game-created regions, is being chaired by Wintermoot, the Monarch of Wintreath.

The summit will be considering a range of topics including the right of self-determination, the maintenance of international peace and goodwill and how we can improve regional security. The summit will also be considering the decision by the Osiris Fraternal Order to declare war on the People's Republic of Lazarus, and how it relates to current and future observations of regional sovereignty and application of its ideals.

The summit is scheduled to conclude on the 8th September, by which time it is hoped that the the Summit Chair will be able to construct a new Convention on Regional Sovereignty. The aim of the convention would be to form a non-binding agreement for participants to improve international peace and security.

Early proposals from the Delegate of The Rejected Realms, Unibot, have outlined putting respect for various political systems of other sovereign regions and allowing regions freedom to oversee their own immigration and emigration in such a Convention. The former, in light of the government of Osiris' dislike of Lazarus' political system being used as a justification for war.

However, the summit has already been the subject of controversy. The Osiris Fraternal Order has issued a statement calling on regions not to attend the opening of the summit due to the subject of their declaration of war being under discussion. Despite being one of the most important topics in international affairs at present, Osiris believes that the matter should not be discussed at the summit. The People's Republic of Lazarus has insisted that this subject is only being discussed in the context of regional sovereignty.

The King of Ainur, one of the summit attendees, stated that it was "slightly perplexing that Osiris should take such a combative attitude towards friendly neutral regions who wish to exercise their rights to attend an inter-regional summit."

Threats from the government of Osiris do not seem to have significantly impacted on the summit so far, with delegates continuing to arrive from across Nationstates.
