The Scenery is always new in Black Mesa Islands..usually because someone just blew it up but that's not the point.

On to the checklist...

-well established, so with a decent population, starting regions need not apply We've got at least 20 active people, cycling in and out, possibly up to 30-40ish. That'll be more apparent to us old-timers as the annunal summer activity increase occurs in the coming weeks. Technically, we've just recently dropped below 100 nations due to several old friends CTE'ing....but they have come back before, and may again! (rest in peace, USP).

-no monarchy/NS-marriage stuff that drives the place (it's okay if one happens, but it should not be the leading factor of it) Wait, government? We've had our lovely dictator by popular choice for as long as *I've* been there (quite a while) and it all works fine. In the summer, we'll probably talk about adding lower ranks again...and it may or may not happen ;P

-Gameplay, P2TM or NS-Sports oriented {I'm looking to expand my horizon with those latter two, but I can also stay around GP stuff if the offer is better} Well, this is one where we sadly fall short a bit. A few of us really enjoy certain P2TM threads we are active in, but we stay out of Gameplay as a region (some members do it through puppets [or mains] elsewhere) minus a concern for safety, and as far as I know no Ns-sports fans here :(

-active offsite forum where I can goof off Well, two things here. One, that describes our RMB very well :P it might as well be an IRC and constant RP and discussion or politics and whatever you wish to bring up at the moment....as for the actual offsite, it does exist. It's never been *crazy* but it was pretty popular last summer and fall and may well return to being so. Hopefully ;)

-has a founder Yes! He may not show face often, but by black magic he is always here in short notice if we need him! (i,e, communicates with the delegate ;P)

-is okay with me occasionally having my WA elsewhere {the specifics we can talk about privately} Go right ahead! We don't mind at all! though me and another member watch regional security, there's really not even much need without an active founder or legitimate government to coup ;)

-has a great atmosphere Ding ding ding! We even have people from other regions leave a puppet just to chat, including Vandoosa (Ozoi to us) [remember the global TG?], among other, less famous ones. Nobody here is mean or nasty, we're all good friends!

As a final note, I will add that a chunk of the population are huge anime fans. If you like that, yay, if not, we'll there's me and a number of other who regularly consider all that gibberish and still love the place!

So come by and chat any time if you wish :) Take some cookies and Koiwai Punch (a regional soda produced in many varieties)...just remember - the cake is a lie! (and so is North Dakota....[seriously, have you ever met a North Dakotan? Been there? Know anyone who's been there? What's in North Dakota?] :P )

-Economa, for the sake of Black Mesa Islands

I tried so hard, and got so far, but in The End, it doesn't even matter.

Calling all PJO/HOO Fangirls/boys

Postby HalfBlood Hill » Thu Jun 05, 2014 8:37 pm

Hello,
I have recently created a new nation, HalfBlood Hill. I am a HUGE PJO/HOO Fangirl. If anyone has a region or group or whatever it is called (when you get tons of telegrams from other nations when you first create a nation asking you to join them) that is for PJO/HOO Fangirls/boys, please tell me about them or send me a telegram so that I may join them. I created my nation in honor of PJO/HOO and would wish to join with others who have done the same.

Thank you,

I'm now closing applications. Will go through the new ones tomorrow.

And then on Sunday I'll make the final decision.

After checking and going through the new ones. I selected my four favourites in no particular order:

The Apartment Block

International Democratic Union

10000 Islands

Yggdrasil

I will now spend the rest of the weekend accepting bribes checking out those regions, check their history on the RMB more, see their offsite forum. See if I know anyone in their region, etc.

The Apartment Block kind of looks like you, but you can never second guess a sheep like you. ;)

Thanks.

In the end, I made a choice.

The Apartment block looked promising, but are a bit too small.

IDU are Int Fed, I heard, which would clash with my Nat Sov leanings.

...

Yggdrasil was close, but in the end my gut feeling said to go with the old and trusted friend.

10000 Islands wins.

I am happy you chose 10XK. I must say all those were solid choices! If I were ever to relocate (cannot imagine that would happen mind you) I would choose one of the regions on your short list.

It used to be IntFed, but is much more moderate/mixed by now: For example the Bears themselves (one of the three resolution-authoring nations still active in both the region and the GA) are definitely more on the NatSov end of the scale...

However, to be honest, our activity levels at present are probably below what you'd want anyhows.

The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed
(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

Aw well, such is life. You're more than welcome to drop a puppet into TAB to keep abreast of our subtle insanity. :p

It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.

Lazarus offers that and more.

Blaat, you should probably ask that a mod lock this thread if you have already made their choice. But I hear they have terrible customer service.
