Looking for a new region

Postby The Blaatschapen » Fri May 30, 2014 1:44 am

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a new region to be a citizen of. Belgium has had me for almost 4 years now, and it is time to change the scenery. In the meanwhile, I'll be hanging out in Warzone Europe.

More specifically I look for a region that is:

-well established, so with a decent population, starting regions need not apply
-no monarchy/NS-marriage stuff that drives the place (it's okay if one happens, but it should not be the leading factor of it)
-Gameplay, P2TM or NS-Sports oriented {I'm looking to expand my horizon with those latter two, but I can also stay around GP stuff if the offer is better}
-active offsite forum where I can goof off
-has a founder
-is okay with me occasionally having my WA elsewhere {the specifics we can talk about privately}
-has a great atmosphere

Applications should be done here. Unless CG/Sedge tell me to take it to TG :)

the_black_riders Dye your fur black and you'd fit right in,make your enemies wonder where the person is,perfect for stealth! :P

All kidding aside,you cant find a more friendly and secure region then gay - I'm personally making sure off that

-established
-democracy (elections every year - we have reasons for that timeframe)
-not a whole lot off RP but we're trying to boot that up more (we got a few new members doing just that)
-most secure founder ever (http://www.nationstates.net/nation=lgbt ... k/id=83461 article 1)
-no rules regarding WA except endorsement limit (preferable to park WA at our delegate though,but not required)
-I'm there,it's great! :D

Even if you decide not to move your main,we would love to have you visit us (even with a puppet) :)
No,I don't speak for TBR,TBH,your mom,moderation or any other person/organization,just saying before anyone thinks that

The International Democratic Union fits your criteria this far...

-Gameplay, P2TM or NS-Sports oriented {I'm looking to expand my horizon with those latter two, but I can also stay around GP stuff if the offer is better}
The IDU has traditionally been & currently is more GA-oriented, but some of urrs have been involved in NS-Sports (and we've had regional football championships, too) and some of urrs have been saying recently that would be nice to expand our activities in this respect.

-active offsite forum where I can goof off
Our forum has been rrather quite for a while, unfortunately, but again this is a point that some of urrs are trying to improve.

-has a founder
Yes, one that can protect the region if necessary but that stays out of trying to run things otherwise... with several players (all of them long-term & reliable members of the region) able to operate it if & when this is actually needed. The WA delegate is elected (by the WA members present) on a quarterly basis.

-is okay with me occasionally having my WA elsewhere {the specifics we can talk about privately}
Yes.

-has a great atmosphere
We like to think so.

the Darwin Allied Republics has been an region for many months now. We have a huge and active democracy and it's one of a kind. Due to my activity and trust of my region, there is no endorsement cap and delegates are elected every month. The DAR has a gameplay military, mostly used for defender projects. Oh! A perfect offsite forum.. As I mentioned,WA members are okay, encouraged, and thanked greatly. We are also a large role-playing region, although most of our RPs take place in the International Incidents forum. And most of all, we have a friendly, funny, and great group of people to be part of.

Any more questions on it? Ask me, it's alright, but I hope you join the region. :)

Sure whatever, lets give this a crack.

The Independent Order should be interesting enough for you.

-We're only about 6-7 months old, but heavy duty recruitment has given us 400+ nations and a strong forum community;
-We are not a "monarchy"; we have no NS family business. Our constitution functions in a similar way to other monarchies but the person at the top is not magically above the constitution.
-I don't know what you mean by P2TM; our main product in our region tends to be nation based roleplay. We dabble in gameplay and there's a couple of people into NS-Sports.
-Our offsite forum is plenty active and always looking for more people to help us goof off in it. :)
-I am the founder. I have been here for 5 years before I tried founding this region and I expect to be stuck with little better to do for another 5 at minimum.
-Your WA is entirely your business; people probably won't even ask you about it. We do have a regional military but it is entirely optional, even if we suddenly have to ask for support from the general citizenry for something major.
-We've got a pretty cool atmosphere but I doubt I'm an unbiased judge for that.

Yggdrasil or 10000 Islands more than meet those points. I'm sure you'll agree if you check them out. Both are very well established and stable with active RMBs and off-site forums. Neither are monarchies. 10KI is strong in gameplay while Ygg is not, but Ygg has a more carefree atmosphere.

One of our members currently has citizenship in the NS-Belgium, inspired by is real-world status as being Belgian. We have a few other Belgians in the region who are always scheming their revolution. I'm sure they take over some day, it's just a matter of when. That being said, citizenship with us doesn't mean you need to cease your citizenship in Belgian, as is the case with the RIA member already over there.

- I like to believe we're well-established. We have an interesting, 10 year history, but our current version is based off of a reboot that launched in August. We have a strong, growing population in terms of both numbers and contributing members. Our forum activity gets a boost from a robust crowd of active foreign visitors.

- Not a monarchy, but there is a regional family and people are starting to get into the whole marriage thing. I've learned that you won't even notice it if you're not a part of it though. As for the actual government, I'd say we're more meritocratic with a few pinches of the democratic process. I'm always taking suggestions though, and the really good ones are often implemented within days. Just ask Benevolent Thomas about all of his ideas I've stolen. :P

- We're defender oriented in GP, and as for RP stuff, we're finally crossing the barrier to get some activity going on there. We have a few people trying to spearhead the whole thing, which includes some individual involvement in NS Sports.

- Offsite forum is plenty active. Lots of opportunities for spam and silliness. I joke that we're the region that does ProBoards right, so I would just ask that you give us a fair chance before judging us on that. ;)

- Founder here. :)

- I don't mind a mobile WA, but it's still something I'd like to talk about just to clear up any possible confusion.

- I enjoy our atmosphere. We have a few... interesting... personalities, but it can lead to some really memorable experiences. :P I'd say one drawback of our community is that we have an active set of younger teens, and I usually ask people to keep that in mind concerning issues of content and language. We're not prudes, I just try to respect what innocent the kids still have. :D

Let me know if you have questions or anything. We'd love to have you. :)

The following regions are acknowledged as P2TM-specific RP regions:
The Apartment Block
Ankh Mauta
Gatehouse by the P2TM

I can't speak for the other two, but TAB offers an OSF, IRC, newspaper (if you have NS++), map, and cares little for establishing politics. We have a WA Delegate and an active founder and that's about the only thing we have that fits the NS region norms. We do welcome puppets if you're looking to park one in order to learn more about P2TM.

We'll eventually try to set things up to function more like a standard NS region. Maybe. Probably not.

We don't do much with NS++ on the regional level. We tried the newspaper thing, but dispatches eliminated that utility for us.
