SPQR - Rebirth of the Republic [JOIN]
Posted: Tue Apr 15, 2014 5:07 pmSince there's no significant active region based on the Roman Republic, which I, as a student of history "obsessed" witch roman culture, society and many other things, believe that is the best part of the overall Roman timeline. That's why I decided to found a region for this purpose.
With this being said, I present you:
SPQR
Senatus Populusque Romanus
i know this region is small and new, but every large and active region has been small at the start, even Rome was just a small city-state, but it expanded quickly to become a superpower of its time.
What I'm trying to do is to replicate as much as possible, and transpose the administrative, political and cultural ways of the Roman Republic in a NationStates region and an offsite forum.
At a later time, after the region has developed, SPQR shall develop a military, because Rome was in part a stratocratic state where a good political career could be gained through a good military career and victories on the battlefield. But for now, the priority is to develop a functioning government and legislative power in the region, in order for it to have great future.
The government position available at this moment are:
-Consul (Will take the position of WA delegate for 4 months)
-Praetor (Head of judicial system and regional security)
-Tribune (Head of the legislative assembly - Plebeian Council)
More will be added as the region grows in size and active members.
I invite everyone interested in roman culture or looking for something new, a fresh start or just out of curiosity, to check this region out and If they wish, to remain and give some support on the foundation of SPQR.
