We here at the Europeia Times find Twitter to be an excellent avenue for getting out breaking stories and connecting to readers we may not normally reach. As such, we are happy to collect and manage the data on various NS-based Twitter accounts and post them here for public consumption and connection. I don't see the appeal of twitter for NS; given the lack of use of it to an extent that would make it a useful social networking/news tool for players, it serves as little more than an inconvenient way to garner information that is easily accessible over IRC or Skype. Both services offer a superior means of communication and information that would be more desirable than Twitter in RL if it was practically possible (e.g. a chatroom full of all the world's people would be superior to an archetypal social networking tool with all the world's people) for disseminating information and opinions. The practical lack of usefulness for it is the reason why I've never seen an NS Twitter service stay afloat for too long.

My twitter handle was originally used when I was a staff member for Travian Games, as I went under Lord Ravenclaw, then it was linked to my Facebook RP page of the same name, and now I use it in NationStates like I used to, so the twitter handle wasn't created for NationStates. Unlike the Osiris page which was.

I'm in the twitter is terrible camp. Don't get the appeal of mixing this godawful thing with a social media channel that can allow you to have normal human interactions with people who don't want to verbally disembowel you because you do or don't defend, invade, imperialise, whatever.
