Welcome to our first major update of 2014 here in Great Britain! A lot has been developing in our region since our previous update, and there is always something going on that deserves recognition in the update. However, the aim of this update will be to deliver short snippets of news that will keep you up-to-date on current affairs in government, parliament and culture.

Elections!
We recently went through an election cycle and saw some exciting races and also some uncontested races. For the uncontested races we had an Independent Bethany Blanchelfeur Grey Talleyrand-Epistre for Northern England, Tyrion Cerebella-Vinage from the BRP for Scotland, and Valfor from the BRP for Wales. Now in the contested races for Prime Minister of the Region we had Amber from the Torchwood Party, an independent Seven Deaths Vinage Grey-Anumia, and last terms Deputy Prime Minister Harold Abendroth-Coxon from the BRP with Amber pulling an easy victory with fifty percent of the vote. In the race for Ireland we had incumbent Vaculatestar Mikelson against BRP candidate Charles IX with Vaculatestar winning with fifty-seven point nine percent of the vote. In the race for Southern England we had Harriet Aurelia Talleyrand-Epistre from the Torchwood Party and Emily an independent running against each other with Harriet winning with fifty-seven point one percent of the vote.
Appointments:
After winning the Premiership newly elected Prime Minister Amber appointed Daniel Scott to be her Deputy Prime Minister and Home Secretary for the term, Vaculatestar Mikaelson to be Foreign Secretary, former Prime Minister Anne to be Culture Secretary, and former Home Secretary, former Home Secretary and former Member of Parliament Jack to be Secretary of State for Justice, and reappointed Beth to be Director General of MI5. Cameron Romefeller was recently appointed to be Lord Chief Justice of the High Court of Kingdom of Great Britain.
The King’s Royal Navy:
The Kingdom of Great Britain after weeks without a military established the sword of the region’s foreign policy with the creation of the Royal Navy. With the initial inception of the Royal Navy, there was an influx of citizens flooding the enlistment thread. Many of the citizens have prior experience in other regional militaries. This means that the Royal Navy already has a strong foundation for taking on future operations.
The Royal Navy was already deployed in Osiris in support of The Brotherhood of Malice since the early days of the Civil War. This was the first decision of the King for the Royal Navy so The Kingdom of Great Britain can have a presence on the international stage. This only operation was also during the early days of the Royal Navy, since then has grown in size. To lead the military to further glory, His Lordship Krimson Vulika and His Lordship Seven Deaths were promptly promoted.
A Royal Wedding:
This past month our beloved King His Imperial Britannic Majesty Richard V got married to the ever so lovely Her Imperial Britannic Majesty Cielly. It was an absolute gorgeous affair with lords and ladies and princes and officials from all over. The region wishes the new couple good luck and look forward to any further parties to be hosted at the Palace.
Culture:
Kingdom of Great Britain recently had our awards ceremony hosted by the Culture Department. The awards are as follows.

Funniest Member: The one that makes us laugh the most? Fanix of course!
Most Intelligent: Is this a surprise? Katherine is has been voted the most intelligent member, and indeed you can all go check out her discussions in court and so forth!
Biggest Spammer: Pretty much.. JACK. You should probably call yourself Jack Spammer!
Most Creative: Bit awkward to announce this myself but hey! Amber!
Most Random: Seven Deaths is the most random of us! Accurate!
Most likely to DIE in a Zombie Apocalypse: Daniel Irvine apparently! Poor Daniel!
Most likely to LIVE through a Zombie Apocalypse: Richard! How will he do it? I don't know but let's party up with him when the time comes!
Best Dictator: Richard! Haha!
Best RPer: Vaculatestar! He participates, and he runs his own World RP, check it out

Foreign Affairs:
This term there are plenty of exciting things planned from the foreign ministry. The new Foreign Minister Vaculatestar Mikaelson is already planning a head of government visit to The New Galactic Empire in the hopes that the current treaty can be added to and the already close diplomatic relations between the two regions can be furthered.
The Imperial Diplomatic Corp is also seeing some changes as newly appointed Foreign Secretary Vaculatestar Mikaelson recently did some re-assigning of personnel, so keep an eye out for a new ambassador one may be coming your way soon. He also put into place a new policy stating that an embassy in Kingdom of Great Britain will be closed if inactive for longer than ninety days. If you have any questions on this feel free to contact our ambassador to your region.
Parliament:
This term with the opening of the House of Lords Parliament was immediately called into a join session by King Richard V where constitutional changes are being discussed. The current proposal which appears to be poised to pass lays out the duties and authorities of both the Monarchy and the Executive Government and also clearly lay's out the separation of powers.
The House of Commons has also passed an act governing the WA Delegate position. What this act does is lay out how a WA Delegate is selected, the endorsement cap for all other WA Nations in the region, and the duties and responsibilities of the WA Delegate.
The BBC:
Prime Minister Amber recently appointed Vaculatestar Mikaelson to be the first Director-General of the British Broadcasting Service (BBC). Vaculatestar was the writer of the law establishing and governing the BBC during the last session of Parliament as a member of the House of Commons and is looking to make a big impression upon the region by providing not only entertainment through the BBC, but unbiased news free from the political arena of Parliament and the Premiership.
