Elections Underway - Escade and Kringalia Frontrunners for Delegate/Vice Delegate

Election HQ - Downtown South Pacific...

Earlier today the December Election season began with the opening of nominations.  As predicted by SPINN Escade and Kringalia have emerged as the frontrunners and only candidates for Delegate and Vice Delegate respectively.  Both are relatively new to TSP only being in the region since early 2013 but have shown outstanding dedication to the region.  Other positions up for grabs in this bout of elections are Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of the Army, Minister of Regional Affairs, Chair of the Assembly, Chief Justice, and the completely unofficial but always fun Craziest Person in TSP.  The first few hours of nominations have brought three competitive races.

The first being Minister of Foreign Affairs in which 3 candidates have declared their candidacy.  Horse, HEM, and UnitedSolarRepublics are the lucky 3 to start being drilled by voters.  Horse and UnitedSolarRepublics are both relatively new to TSP where HEM has been around and served in different positions over the past several years in TSP most recently Vice Delegate under Southern Bellz.  The race is certainly heating up and will be one to watch.  We here at SPINN project a more moderate candidate to step forward and could become the favorite quickly.

Chief Justice is a position which doesn't see a whole lot of action in the South Pacific but has two candidates running to take the seat.  QuietDad who was appointed by the Cabinet to fill the remainder of the term vacated by Southern Bellz has accepted his nomination to run.  Arbiter08 a relatively new TSP is hoping to unseat QuietDad.  While an election for Chief Justice is scheduled and couldn't be postponed it is likely to be vacated by changes to the Judicial Branch in the coming days which would elect 3 Justices instead of one Chief Justice.  The candidates in this election would be frontrunners in a Special Election if the new law is enacted.

Awesomiasa, Associate Editor-in-Chief here at SPINN, has put his hat in the race for Chair of the Assembly and is the only candidate to do so at this time.  Sandaoguo is still projected to be a frontrunner for a second term if he choses to run.  Awesomiasa does have a shot at unseating the current Chair and this will be a race to watch.

No candidates have put their name forward for Minister of the Army or Regional Affairs at the time of this article being written.  In the race for Craziest in the South Pacific, Belschaft and Unibot are going head to head so far.  SPINN predicts several other candidates to enter the race before it moves to the voting stage.

Stay tuned to SPINN as we continue to deliver updates throughout the entire Election process.

BREAKING NEWS: Threat in The Rejected Realms
Tarter Endorses Everyone in The Rejected Realms

The Rejected Realms...

Tarter stirs trouble in The Rejected Realms

A newly founded named, “Liegeois” joined the World Assembly this evening and endorsed every World Assembly member-nation in The Rejected Realms except for the Delegate and Vice Delegate. The behavior of “Liegeois” suggests a professional – or at the very least, not a new player unaware of endo-caps or such.

Tarting in The Rejected Realms is especially hazardous because the delegate cannot eject or ban threats to the region. Frattastan, Delegate of The Rejected Realms, however, says that he is watching Liegeois closely and the situation unfolds.

“We'll be able to deal with it before they become a major problem,” says Frattastan.

One commentator noted that twenty-five minutes before Liegeois was founded, North-East Somerset, Prince of The New Inquisition, resigned from the World Assembly – the circumstances were complicated even more with Griffin Somerset, Kaiserin of The New Inquisition, coming out of an extended period of inactivity only an hour before these events to apply to join the World Assembly in Lazarus.

We've constructed a time-table of events from Dec 6 as they have unfolded:

4:43:31 PM EST. Griffin Somerset applies to the WA.
5:37:50 PM EST. NES resigns from the WA. 5:37:50 PM EST.
6:02:06 PM EST. Liegeois is founded.
6:29:10 PM EST. Liegeois joins the WA.
6:43:12 PM EST. Liegeois begins endorsing all of TRR (except Delegate and Vice Delegate).
7:50:58 PM EST. Liegeois finishes endorsing all of TRR (except Delegate and Vice Delegate).

In mid-November, North-East Somerset was replaced as Balder’s Crown Prince, citing real life as a reason; he is currently nominated for the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs in Balder.
When asked whether he believed the activity from North-East Somerset was related with Liegeois’s activity, Frattastan was adamant:

“---- Not a coincidence,” says Frattastan.

It looks like we may be in for a very turbulent weekend.

Stay tuned to SPINN for more on this story as it develops.

Make no bones about it, TRR is bar none the hardest GCR region to coup (at least, a coup that last more than 1-2 updates). Sure, someone could perhaps one day surpass Fratt, but next update things will be set back to normal. This is the reason why I think it's probably not a seasoned GP guy, but probably a person who knows their way around the game nevertheless.

You're joking, right? I've seen n00bs with one day of raid training be more subtle than this guy. I say its someone who's totally clueless. Probably an unaffiliated or brand new to a raiding group.

This bit is satire...right? :p

I suppose we must now ask why we are immediately blaming members of TNI for this?

It may not be TNI, but considering the timing I'd be more surprised if it wasn't.
And that doesn't mean I consider it a serious attempt at the Delegacy. :P

I'm willing to bet that if I looked hard enough at the WA activity a few hours before Liegeois went endowhoring I would be able to find plenty of paper thin "evidence" to suggest that it was really the FRA that did this, not the TNI. In fact, this is clearly an FRA plot.

Clearly.

The last time someone did this in The Rejected Realms was April Fools Day, when Chairman Wow (so, me) launched The Rejects' Revolution. Which I thought would be hilarious but nobody really ran with it. :(

Unfortunately, my WA is all tied up at the moment so I can't claim credit for this one. But long live the Rejects' Revolution!

Unless of course my WA isn't really tied up. Muahahaha.

Lots of conspiracy theories and coincidences, but no one is actually willing to put their money where their mouth is regarding me being Liegeois?

I would have expected better from SPINN than this nonsense - but then I saw the Editor of International News: Unibot III

"Knows their way around the game" could have a wide variety of connotations, lol. They could, for instance, know that TRR is a big region, they can endorse in that region, and they might be able to become a... delegate.

While it's obvious Unibot wrote this, I am not impressed with the fact that the SPINN is being used as a propaganda tool by him. Furthermore, how many papers will be a tool for this? Surely there is a problem with Unibot writing for TRRs, TSPs and his own private media as "anonymous" sources :P

SPINN has not and will not be releasing the author of this article. As discussed on IRC SPINN believes in a policy of anonymity for writers of all articles with the exception of regional news to protect them and their sources. If you have an issue with an article you are free to either post here or discuss it with me.

Also if anyone has an issue with someone on my staff they should direct that issue to my tg box not in our GP thread..

That's not according to what Awe says. He says you're the Head of International News and it reeks of your obsession with TNI and NES. Whom, you apparently watch very very closely. I got nothing to hide, I'm a straight shooter. Always have been. I don't hide behind anonymity like you do, so that you can attack people from the shadows as you did in TRR with Asta and pursue similar bizarre agendas through it.

So I ask you, what do you have to hide?

Furthermore, I am simply not comfortable with the fact that Unibot is writing and even worse in charge of the foreign affairs paper for one GCR anonymously, while posting similar articles in his own paper. I believe this is a breach of trust for the reader. People assume they are written by different people and hence give the ideas more credence, it'd be like running 2 different papers in a region with 2 different names. He is even running to run the media in TRR. This, in my opinion is not right and is wrong. It's a conflict of interest.

1. You're not a straight shooter. Don't even pretend.

2. Hileville runs SPINN, not me.

3. SPINN is a private media organization, not state-run. Hence why it is "Independent" (and yes, that's the real definition of Independent, not the Imperialist version).

4. You're still trying to make the story about "me" -- the story is Liegeois. Who is Liegeois? What's he doing in TRR. That's what SPINN wants to know.

Bloody hell this is a terrible read. Unibot, how you think it's okay to simultaneously try to pin HEM down as evil imperialist scum, dedicated to surrendering TSP to that side, in his campaign thread in TSP, while writing articles "anonymously" (nearly always a coward's mask) about how one nation showed up in TRR AND THEREFORE CLEARLY TNI IS PLANNING INVASIONCOUPGATE is so far beyond me that I'm not sure it can be comprehended.

We can agree to disagree Mr. Anonymously attacking his enemies. You can continue with the personal attacks if you wish. You are the head of international affairs for SPINN and have used it for your witchhunt against TNI. It's an awful article that does not dignify a response. My issue is in the conflict of interest and the propaganda you are once again engaging in the name of anonymity.
