Yeah it's subjective, but I don't like the motto so I am going to say it's a bad motto. I am going to give you the blame for the motto still.

I'm rather fond of the motto we chose to win, actually. It somewhat applies to us, "Don't give up because of a banjection or two," if you will.

So it works better for raiders then the region it was picked for?

Why don't you use the motto?

You can have it. It'll be funny really. It's also a better fit with you.

Unibot has a rather bad habit of confusing people who are Centralist (e.g., supports raiding and defending) with Imperialists.

This is no exception.

Alas, defender ideologues have sought to commandeer terms, historically 'raider' and now 'imperialist', to refer to anyone who dares disagree with any aspect of their world view, as opposed to precisely using them to recognise the traditions of the different regions which these categories describe.

You said the following:
If you're going to do the usual imperialist "complain about something completely trivial and ask for Unibot to resign over it" schtick with the hopes of deterring discussion away from anything substantial, at least be accurate about your pedanticism.

The added emboldening is mine.

You may not have said the exact words 'McMasterdonia is an imperialist', but you made the implication he is engaging in activities specific to imperialists.

It is clear that you think that it is inherently 'imperialist' for an individual to take issue with the many inaccuracies which litter this paper.

Hence the unwarranted use of the word 'imperialist' as a term of abuse for labelling those that disagree with you, which is my objection.

No, you never said 'like' expressly either, so if you are going only by express words you cannot claim that any more than the alternative reading.

If we're going by exact words, then I never said you called him an imperialist either; merely responded to the implication your reference created.

Just because you did not say the exact words 'McMasterdonia is an imperialist' does not prevent you from having implied he was an imperialist.

You said:
If you're going to do the usual imperialist "complain about something completely trivial and ask for Unibot to resign over it" schtick with the hopes of deterring discussion away from anything substantial, at least be accurate about your pedanticism.

That carries the implication that McMasterdonia is engaging in activities specific to imperialists.

It is reasonable to respond to such an implication by pointing out that McMasterdonia is indeed hardly an imperialist, yet you still invoke the word.

You suggested that criticising TRR Times is something limited to imperialists, when in fact opposing inaccuracy is a position non-imperialists can take.

Indeed, suggesting that criticism of TRR Times is somehow an imperialist behaviour is to inappropriately misrepresent both its critics and imperialists.

Well, I personally think the inaccuracies hurt the articles. It's difficult to read an article and to take it seriously when it gets even the dates confused. It speaks to the quality.

I am well aware that IDU is a member of WALL. The list of WALL members was not exclusive. At no point in the article did I say it was an exclusive list.

Alvalero wrote:The only date I actually paid attention to was the one I pointed out earlier. So much for this being a masterpiece of journalism!
But really Uni either properly proofread or ask others to do so before publishing. Then you can blame them for this type of thing!

I seriously don't give a fuck. Not one fuck is given. Yes, April comes after March. Good for you, you own a calender. But what fucking good would a proofreader be to catch such a trivial mismatch of ordering, when I still have to write 1,500 words, so that nobody - not a single person will discuss it, except to critique the fucking chronology of the dates. For you and your cabal, it's good fun and an exercise in a healthy dose of passive-aggression to read our works thoroughly to nit-pick about dates and the ordering of this or that or to complain about some factoid that wasn't included which you would have complained if it was included, with the hope that this hurts the legitimacy of our newspaper and upsets us, but for us, it's just a slap in the face after spending our evening writing articles for people to read and discuss.

Dont flatter yourself Uni, I did not read this work thoroughly. If people decide to heap praise on apparent excellency it is only right that errors are pointed out. Also no you dont have to write 1500 words, that is your choice. If you cant take criticism for the small things then you have a long way to go in this world. And I'm an Independent not an imperialist thank you very much. Try not to group people together because it suits you.

The very idea of Mcmasterdonia as an Imperialist amuses me greatly. Nothing could be further than the truth in all actual fact, the man as a foreign minister has always pursued an equal opportunities foreign policy designed to allow The North Pacific a chance to interact with various sides and groups within NationStates without isolating any of their historical allies in the process.

If he were an Imperialist, then things would be somewhat different for the North Pacific given the length of time he's served the North Pacific as Delegate.

Well that took an unexpected turn... I was just lightly teasing you Unibot. But it did seem like an omission of fact that was intended to frame the organisation in a certain way, plus I do not wish for the IDUs role in the organisation to be ignored or talked down especially given how close Tnp and the Idu have become over the years.
