Reviving my old puppets, I came across some old TGs. I showed some on IRC, and there some thought they would be appreciated here as well. So I'll start with part one, if any other old gmaeplayers have stories to tell as well, feel free to join in.

This one is a left over from when a nation called Great Bight took over the North Pacific. It was quite a project to retake it.

This is a leftover from when a region called "Hell" was invaded by some old rulebreaker called Sythia. He kept calling the defenders "ADN Carebears". Of course, I couldn't resist and created a nation called ADN Carebears, complete with carebears flag!
In the end, we didn't manage to liberate Hell, but Sythia dug his own hole and was deleted (and I think banned too)
The new native delegate removed all the defenders from the banlist and sent them a standard message saying they've been removed (back then, the national happenings didn't exist). For me, though, he added the extra line at the bottom. Guess he didn't like Carebears

I remember not to long ago the delegate of the NP staged a coup and took over the region. I think it was the first time it had been taken over on such a large scale. I'm sorry I can't give any more info on this, wish I had a copy of the posts posted in the NP's forum. I'd post them here. MAybe someone can fill in the rest.

My main nation's mailbox doesn't contain messages that old. They always get spammed away. Important TMs I saved in txt-format anyhow. However, in the mailbox of my first puppet ("-west-flanders-") which I just revived, I dug up a TM from "2105 days ago". It's in dutch, it's talk about an intercepted message from a possible invader, actually not making much sense anymore without the context.

So having a lot of puppets, you sometimes run out of creativity. Some have the same name, with only difference is a space in between (example: CrazyGirl vs. Crazy Girl)

At one time I had two puppets sitting in the Pacific, same name, but one had a space in between. I was typing with the one without a space, saving the one with a space for later.

And sure enough, Francos Spain kicked out my puppet. Except he kicked the wrong one, the one with a space, that I wasn't posting with.

The ***** is a nation name. The message is in regard to the Regional Message Board of the region Un Security Council, and someone who is now a game administrator asking me how I managed to do what I did. Back then it was possible to post macro tags to the RMB, and the game would fill in the name, population, currency, etc... of whomever was reading the message. It seems the recent adding of tags removed this option, so now you can read the macro tags themselves. Those messages are still up on that RMB today, so you can go read yourself what those macro tags were. Just imagine for each @@BLAH@@ it would fill in the current information from the nation you're currently logged in as.

Received: 2297 days ago I posted a basic outline for the book as a reply, but as we probably both know, the boards are a wee bit unreliable.

"At the Mountains of Madness" was a short story by the horror wirter H.P. Lovecraft. The basic plot was about a group of sicentists that dicovered an ancient city in Antartica. While exploring the ruins, they find out from carvings lef behind that the race that inhabited this city (called the Elder Ones) were the original inhabitants of the earth and had created all other life, including man. The Elder One's city was set into a mountain range that the narrator refered to as the Mountains of Madness due to the insane architecture of the city as well as what he found there.
There's a bit more to the story, but I think I've spoiled enough of it for you. Great story, I wholeheartedly recomend it.

Sadly, I prune my TGs. The furthest back I can go is one a puppet received, from 1132 days ago, and it was a chat with Noiresque about Australian poet Gwen Harwood. But I do have one that needs no date, because it appears so often, with little varied except the sender:

what u have created was an all out war between me and the moderators so i will give u a chance to redeem yourself from a life of problems you 40yr old virgin stay out of my business or your gonna have some problems ok and you can call us the [EDIT: name of region] an organized computer torririzing league

Over and over it happens -- people yell at mods in TGs, and then finish up with a polite little line like "yours" or "thanks" (or "peace out"). Why?

Oh lordie, I remember dealing with that mess! Hell used to be quite the problem region between Sythia, Sheol, and general hijinks relating to one or the other. And for awhile Neutered Sputniks was installed as founder because of some screwball case involving UN multies and constant griefing attempts after Hell's original founder went and got himself deleted for throwing a fit over Sheol's deletion XD

A small discussion with Francos on how many nations he had banned. Eventually the banlist got a maximum (I believe of 200) because it became so large.

In the North Pacific there was this couple, Cathyy and Insane Power (I think those in the North Pacific will remember them) who had taken control.
I was poking fun at them with my puppet the French Poodle, posting silly rhymes on the RMB. And...I apparently went a little overboard, cause I got a mod message.

I originally sent this to myself instead of bookmarking the site. Of course, FAS sucks, but I kept it because it was my oldest TG and I flushed my "welcome to the game" TG. My next oldest is also from myself, but it's only 1069 days old.
