[PASSED] Liberate Eternal Scholars

PostPosted: Tue Jul 19, 2016 4:30 pm

Description: The Security Council,

Recognizing that Eternal Scholars was forcefully invaded by Nazi and Fascist forces lead by Nazi Europa,

Understanding that prior to this invasion, Eternal Scholars was a peaceful region led by a native World Assembly Delegate,

Appalled by Nazi Europa's closure of native embassies, forceful construction of embassies with other Fascist regions, and having the intent, as evidenced by its numerous trophy regions, to remove all natives and re-create the region in their own image,

Noting the recent implementation of hidden border control measures, unknown to natives, which have prevented the free passage of nations into the region,

Stressing the importance of regions and nations working as a unified world against forces such as Nazi Europa,

Believing that only Security Council intervention can at this point enable for the region to be freed from its oppressors,

Hereby Liberates Eternal Scholars.

My first crack at an SC proposal in a while, but this one seems pretty straightforward. Given the installation of a hidden password upon Eternal Scholars about a day ago by Nazi Europa forces, a password that we do not know nor do we have a chance of knowing, it's important to liberate the region so as to give some chance of some sort of liberation from Nazi occupation or at the very least prevent them from systematically emptying it.

So, thoughts?

Assuming no significant reasons come up to oppose this, I think I'm gonna try to submit this within a day or so, just as a quick update.

Technically they only prevent free passage into the region, not out.
Stressing the importance of regions and nations working as a unified world against forces such as Nazi Europa,

Believing that only Security Council intervention can at this point enable for the region to be freed from its oppressors,

Hereby Liberates Eternal Scholars.

Fix the two small errors and I'll support. :)

Shouldn't be too hard to find some native support for this, yes?

Thanks for the input, NSA! Fixed the typo and made a clarification on the password deal.

I've shot out a few telegrams to the active ones, but yeah I doubt it'll be an issue finding it.

In regards to the proposal, I was hoping that Canton Empire would be willing to remove his from the queue due to the time sensitivity of this proposal (if you look at the region, even more natives were ejected today, I'm worried about the time frame on this), but he seems to be unwilling to. Given the badgehunting proposal currently at vote and that, we're looking at a fair while till this may pass, but I'm remaining optimistic that we'll still be able to help the region.

I'll be submitting tonight.

Somewhat curious.. With the badge hunt at vote and the 3 days or so this will take to go through, will there be time for a defense mission?

I TG'd the author of the condemnation repeal asking to pull it, got no response. Doubt it will happen now that it's in queue.

Nazi Europa has over 40 troops supporting them. I very much doubt there will be a liberation attempt at all, at least not until the number of endorsements goes down.

I said you could pull my resolution, but I never saw it pulled. Too late now that my resolution is at vote

I believe you have to personally ask for it to be pulled because Tim is not the author of the condemnation repeal.

Too late now. Just have to hope there's something left to liberate in a week

You would have had to submit a GHR to request it to be pulled. Don't sweat it, not your fault.

I really think it's probably implied in this case. I can't say I've ever met a native who said, "Boy, I'd love to have my region locked, re-founded, and permanently kept as a trophy by Nazi Europa."

I agree with Cormactopia. While some direct support/approval PM's or notes would be better, no one would like to be a puppet, trophy, or otherwise forcibly subjugated to other region.

It's not explicit, but I am sure they'd rather be liberated than remain dominated by a foreign region.
